Amenity space repositioning for luxury apartment building

Elevate, a 22-story luxury apartment building in Cambridge, was ready for an upgrade. Located in the Cambridge Crossing neighborhood, which has recently become a buzzing work cluster to some of the biggest names in life science, it was important to the owners that their amenities reflected the desires of some of the workforce their building may attract.

Our Timberline team was tasked with managing the construction of a two-phase project in the occupied building — the first being a 54,000 SF amenities upgrade that includes a complete overhaul of the bottom two floors of the building. As of December 2023, the tenants in the building have a new concierge service, reception, lobby, mail room and package room, all on the entry level. On the 2nd level, building occupants have access to a library and club lounge rooms that provide a common space for people to work, entertain and enjoy outside of their individual apartments.

The second phase of the work, to be completed in Spring 2024, will include the addition of ground-floor retail space to house things like a pet wash and bike repair, along with space for food service. A sky lounge on the top floor will provide outdoor community space, along with ground-level exterior landscaping improvements.
