Hyatt Place

A JUST-IN-TIME HOTEL REOPENING

This Hyatt Place, conveniently located just south of Boston in Braintree, is a 204-room hotel that services the City and the South Shore of Massachusetts. Originally opened in 2012, the owner felt it was time for a refresh for much of the property, including guest rooms, publicly facing areas and amenity spaces.

In each guest room and bathroom, updates included finishes and fixtures as well as full replacement of individual A/C units. All of the common corridors received new carpet, wall coverings and lighting fixtures. For the highly used public areas, we were able to completely renovate the bar area, entry lounge area including seating and a fireplace, and the buffet area where morning breakfast is served daily. Additionally, all of the meeting rooms along the ground floor were updated with fixtures and finishes, and we refreshed the fitness area with new flooring and wallcoverings.

Our work extended to the exterior, where we performed a building-wide window replacement as well as painted the exterior envelope to give an overall polished look. We also oversaw a full-building replacement of every door and a refresh of the elevator cabs.

This project was completed in a short schedule during the pandemic, which also introduced the challenge of material procurement. Although the schedule and scope of this project changed throughout the duration, the hotel was fully operational just as the world was opening up in May of 2021.
