MODERNIZED SPACE FOR INNOVATIVE TECH COMPANY

When Unity Technologies, a fast-growing San Francisco-based video game software development company, acquired a Framingham technology company, they were eager to transform this pre-existing office space and merge each company’s culture through a unique design. To bring these companies cohesively together, our team performed complete demolition and office build-out of the space resulting in a place that all employees could be proud of.

The new office space features various open collaborative workspaces, private offices, and café area, topped off with brand new flooring, lighting, wall coverings and moveable panels. The industrial design features a mix of steel, wood and exposed ceilings, which contributes to the modern, yet approachable aesthetic. To further emphasize what their business creates, unique wall art is also displayed throughout.

The project kicked off pre-pandemic but was completed in Summer 2020, which introduced challenges of safety compliance and long lead times. However, Timberline worked closely with the client, design team and building owner to tackle these unforeseen challenges to meet an accelerated schedule with minimal impact on the building’s other tenants.

Unity Technologies’ new space was a winner of the ATAS International 2020 Project of the Year Award for Interiors.
