YMCA Youth Innovation & Learning Development Hub
Worcester, MAdesign-build of a vibrant hub for worcester youth
Timberline combined its in-house architectural design and construction expertise to transform the existing youth center at the YMCA’s Greendale branch into a dynamic 4,000 SF Youth Innovation & Learning Development Hub. Designed for children and teens up to age 18, the hub offers a safe and welcoming space for kids in the community to play and learn. It fosters educational growth, recreational activity and social development while helping build confidence. Key components of the new center include:
Gross Motor Skill Space: A large, open area for free play, featuring a ninja gym and a sectioned-off space with climbing equipment for infants and younger children.
STEAM Lab: A classroom-style space designed for schoolwork, projects and experiments, encouraging creativity and hands-on learning.
Teen Center: A dedicated space for teens with a tech bar, social zones and gaming area.
The hub’s design embraces a vibrant and energetic theme with bright colors and an outdoor aesthetic. Painted mountain murals and custom tree details add warmth and inspiration to the space, reflecting the program’s mission of growth and innovation.
