Steven Kelly, President of Timberline Construction, was featured in the New England Real Estate Journal’s Annual Review Spotlight. He was asked to discuss his greatest professional accomplishment in 2014. Steven wrote about his involvement with the Mass Fallen Heroes organization. His response is below.
“I’ve had the good fortune of supporting an organization of great Americans, the Mass Fallen Heroes (MFH). In September 2014, MFH celebrated the groundbreaking for a permanent memorial dedicated to veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Iraq and Afghanistan war and their Gold Star families. The memorial’s prime location in Boston’s Seaport Square Park, the heart of the Innovation District, was made possible through the philanthropy of John Hynes and Boston Global Investments. I’m thankful that our newly elected mayor Marty Walsh has supported this mission the past seven years. I respect his leadership and commitment to veterans’ needs. I’m proud of Timberline’s accomplishments supporting MFH by providing guidance in design, construction and strategic planning, while providing physical space to support fundraising efforts. Working with these veterans, including my brothers Greg, a U.S. Marine and Green Beret and Ed, of the U.S. Air Force, is humbling and puts into perspective the sacrifices our veterans and their families make, so we may all enjoy freedoms we often take for granted. Honoring them should not be an option, but a responsibility we all share” – Steven P. Kelly, President of Timberline Construction.
